In that folder you should find a sub-folder named either POP-<your emailaddress> or IMAP-<your emailaddress>. Within that folder you should be able to see a 'tray like' icon with the name Drafts.mbox. If that subfolder is there then that's a good sign. My thinking at this point is that you may only need to rebuild the mailbox index file which is located in <home>/Libary/Mail and named 'Envelope Index' in order for the Drafts folder to be visible again.
NOTE: I have not had an issue with missing MAILBOXES folders before so I am guessing that this will work. I have certainly had missing messages under 'ON MY MAC' for which the rebuild process has resolved it.
In order to rebuild the index:
Move the Envelope Index file to the desktop and then re-start Mail. Hopefully when the index has been re-created your Drafts folder will be visible in the sidebar.

We have an older Macbook we are using for a temporary work computer. We need to access a certain website. The website requires that we upgrade Safari. We tried to upgrade Safari. Safari said we have to update our OS X to at least Snow Leopard or Lion, before we can upgrade Safari. We purchased Lion. The email said to go download the file using your redemption code. We opened iTunes, the only want to buy software in OS X 10.5.8 that I am aware. It said 'This code must be redeemed in the MAC app store'. We went to the web page for the Mac App Store. It said we must have OS X 6 or higher to have the Mac Apple Store! %&#$! So basically I have to have OS X 6 or higher, in order to be able to download the Mac App Store, and I must have the Mac App Store to be able to upgrade to OS X 6 or higher!
