So most of you know, to capture audio from a Mac you need an extension like Soundflower. But what most of you don't know is that you can use another extension to capture audio. I present to you, iShowU Audio Capture!

CHECKLIST

STEPS
1. Install iShowU Audio Capture(link in checklist) like you installed Soundflower.

2. (optional)Uninstall Soundflower.
3. Open Audio MIDI Setup. Click the '+' button at the bottom left of the window. Choose 'Create Multi-Output Device'.

4. Check the boxes for Built-in Output & iShowU Audio Capture in the 'Use' column. Also check the box for Built-in Output in the 'Drift Correction' column to prevent audio sync issues.

5. Open System Preferences, then go to Sound. In the Output section, select your newly created multi-output device.

6. Open OBS. Go to Settings, then Audio. Select iShowU Audio Capture as one of your Mic/Auxiliary Audio Device.

Audio MIDI Setup User Guide

If you use more than one audio device to create a multi-output device, you can play audio through several devices at once. For example, when you add two devices to a multi-output device, audio sent to the master device also plays through any other device in the stack.

  1. In the Audio MIDI Setup app on your Mac, click the Add button at the bottom of the sidebar in the Audio Devices window, then choose Create Multi-Output Device.

    A new multi-output device appears in the sidebar. To rename the device, click it, then enter a new name.

  2. Select the new multi-output device, then on the right side of the Audio Devices window, select the Use checkbox of each device you want to use in the multi-output device.

  3. To set the master device for the multi-output device, click the Master Device pop-up menu, then choose an output device.

To remove a multi-output device, select it on the right side of the Audio Devices window, then click the Remove button .
